Members of EB can be elected by the general body of AID or nominated by the Board of Directors. Through this combination, it is hoped that volunteers with experience, enthusiasm to take up AID-wide responsibilities, as well as expertise in specific areas of work can be brought into the Executive Board.
Over the years, some EB members were elected or nominated for, at large, positions, and while serving on the EB, took up various coordination responsibilities. Some other members were elected or nominated for specific portfolios. During the first few years, there were more of the former, while increasingly the priority has been to have well-defined purposes for which members come into the EB.
