Mt. Rainier for AID - A Unique Fundraising Initiative

Latest Aug 18: An inspired well-wisher has pledged to match the next $1000 that is raised.  Please help Rohan, AID and the school in India secure this match by making a tax deductible donation through Rohan's Page.

Last year, Rohan Parmesh, a 15 year old student from Seattle area visited India for his summer vacation. He chose to spend his summer working with AID India. He designed reading material for the Eureka program, which has been of such high quality that it was accepted by the Education department for mass publication! He also spent time at Vinobha school, a school that supports mostly orphan children in Trichy. The school is in very poor condition with minimal support/resources from the government. AID India has been asked to take it over and make it a model school.

Rohan has decided that this year he will climb the Mt. Rainier to raise funds for the Vinobha school and similar Eureka model schools. He has set an ambitious target for himself to raise $15K!  As of August 15 he has raised more than half the amount!   For him to reach his target of $15,000to support the Vinobha school, he will need ALL the support he can from AID volunteers and wellwishers!

So here's an appeal to everyone. Please pitch in, in whatever way you can!  Also, please tap in to your networks to spread the word about Rohan's heroic effort of climbing 14000+ ft for AID.

Rohan has already raised $9K, and aims to raise a total of $15K. Please see his fundraising page. | Rohan's Letter.

We wish Rohan all the best for his High Endeavour and encourage people to contribute to the worthy cause!
