AID Condemns Killing of RTI Activist in Ahmedabad
Association for India's Development (AID) strongly condemns the killing of environmentalist and anti-corruption activist, Amit Jethwa, in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad last week.
Association for India's Development (AID) strongly condemns the killing of environmentalist and anti-corruption activist, Amit Jethwa, in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad last week. This incident continues an increasingly disturbing trend of citizens using RTI being targeted for unearthing corruption in various parts of the country and we urge the Government to bring the perpetrators to justice and send a strong signal that these barbaric acts have no place in the Indian democracy. We also hope that the government will take all necessary measures to ensure adequate security and support for the families of those who lost their lives. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family members of these brave souls.
