Impact of Earthquake

Earthquake's Impact on Indian side of Line of Control · 1,297 persons are reported so far to have lost their lives due to the earthquake, as per following details:- o 1,195 civilians (1178 in Srinagar Division, 17 in Jammu Division). o 102 Defence and Central Para Military Forces personnel (i.e. Army-45, BSF- 09 and BRO - 04, Porters/Labourers - 44). · 6,266 persons (5,796 in Srinagar Division, 148 in Jammu Division and 322 Defence and Central Para Military Forces personnel) are reported to be injured. · 21 BRO personnel are still reported missing. Damage to Property · 32,723 buildings/houses - 31,809 in Srinagar Division and 914 in Jammu Division - are reported to have been damaged.
