People of chillakur mandal villages have taken shelter in Thufan Shelters and people in Tada mandal did not have such shelters. Due to heavy floods Pulicat lake is over flooded and drown the huts of STs living around the lake in Tada Mandal. The details are submitted to the govt and they are hopefully distribute food grains today or tomorrow. In the mean time we have decided to spend at least 25,000/- for the distribution of food grains immediately.. There are 374 fully damaged huts deserve support. If we can provide Rs.3000/- per house, they will be able to immediately have huts with the materials from the damaged houses. We also want to distribute 10 Kgs of rice to over 1000 families who are affected in these villages.
Simultaneously we are requesting the government to act.
