 AID volunteers protest in front of Indian Embassy in Washington DC against the government's move to amend the Right to Information Act. The UPA government led by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was forced to drop the amendment, since civil society groups spoke up. Thus people's right to access government files and file-notings that was attained in 2005-06 was safeguarded in 2006-07.
