Srinivas (also called Dr.K) has been and a regular AID volunteer since 1997. The story of his pre-volunteer days is interesting and shows his simple, systematic approach. By 1995, he was already a regular donor of AID and used to unfailingly send a monthly check. Before one of his India trips, he called us and got details of an AID project to visit. When he returned, he promptly booked a slot in the CSH at College Park to come and present his visit report! Luckily for us, after meeting all of us at the CSH, he decided to continue as a regular volunteer. Srinivas has been a regular volunteer who has seen many "generations" of chapter volunteers come and go, and has still remained the one who is always on time to all meetings, visitor talks etc., and takes minutes at most of the meetings. He was Projects Coord of the chapter from 1999-2002, and after that, he has continued to be a de facto projects coord for most of the time. He was also part of the AID-wide projects team helping with the incoming project proposals, distribution, project database training, etc. In October 2004, he volunteered to take over the state registrations and other form-filing, which was being handled primarily by Kiran Vissa. Taking up the task seriously at once, he assisted Kiran in filing the forms for 2004. In the 2005 cycle, he took the primary responsibility of preparing the forms, and did a thorough job to get our registrations up-to-date in more than 25 states, apart from ensuring our incorporation status in Maryland. Now, he is well on way for the 2006 cycle. With the official Secretary position on the EB, he will be able to independently handle the filing requirements and address any queries that come up. Further, his experience and thorough thinking with projects and organizational matters will be an asset to the EB. Email: srinivas.krovvidy_at_gmail_dot_com
