Full Report (doc) by Sathish Photo Link Eureka science quiz is a state level science quiz competition for Government schools in areas where AID-India is working in Tamil Nadu. Students from seven districts are participating in it. First there is a written test conducted at the schools by AID-India. Students selected from this test represent their schools at the block level competition. From each block two teams are selected to attend the state-level competition in Chennai. This is report of one such competition held at Shulgari block on 25th of march and it attended by AID volunteer Satish.
The competition for the day started with written test after that children are engaged by a couple of coordinators with activities like Origami etc, after this a video presentation on bacteria is shown which is followed by a oral quiz, question asked during quiz are quite innovative followed by excellent explanation ,author is shocked to see creative and logical response of village children. Total 33 teams participated in this event out of which 8 qualified at block level ,finally 2 teams got selected to participate at state level , team got selected are PUMS (Panchayat Union Middle School), Sappadi and PUMS, Paathuk , all participating teams are awarded with some prize. The students went home happily with good memories of the event. This successful event is possible because of dedicated and committed Shulgari team, Mr. Nagaraj, Mr. Murugesh, Mr. Zikriya and Ms. Meenakshi are some of the name of volunteers. Satish was convinced that the coordinators are making a deep and subtle impact by their persistent efforts and have started seeing the results for themselves.
