3 Lakh population in 48 wards of · 50,000 people are under water surroundings. · 3146 people evacuated to safe place. · 40 diesel pump sets are in operational to discharge the rain water.. · 4 free kitchen centres (Tulasipur UP, Mohan Mandap, Jobra Kalyan mandap & Choudhury Bazar) operated for 6000 population by the district administration.. · 8 free kitchen operated by NGO for 10,000 population. · Emergency relief for 15,000 population in shape of (Chuda) fried rice 50 qtls. and (Guda) Jagur 10 qtls.distributed. · Steps to taken to open 2 free kitchen center by the district administration.. · 4 Medical Team deployed in affected areas. · Assessment of affected dwelling houses on in process by the administration.. · 10 low line wards partially denuded. · 5 DP sets deployed to discharge the rain water. · 10 Sanitary Inspectors and 1 Food Inspector deployed in affected areas.. · 20 bags of bleaching powder distributed. · 60 laborers along with adequate vehicle are in alert to clean water ways. · 5 DP sets are ready to work. Tornado –05.08.07 from · 1000 household affected. · 1person died as per the report. · 9 injured & admitted in CHC, Binjharpur.Out of them 4 are serious injured.and 2 have been referred to S.C.B Medical, Cuttack.for treatment INTRODUCTION: The
flood situation continued to remain grim in Orissa even on Monday as a storm,
accompanied by torrential rains and strong winds inundated many more areas of
the state including OBJECTIVE: To provide
immediate relief to the people affected by flood in SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: · Assess the situation and prepare a list of areas severely affected by flood. · Make a list of materials to be provided to overcome the immediate crises · Make arrangements to supply them the materials at the earliest o In areas where immediate government help has not reached o People who will not receive help from Government and/or NGOs for one or the reasons. GOAL: To provide immediate relief to the people of worst affected
by flood in TENTATIVE BUDGET
TOTAL – Rs 3,48,000 (three lakhs forty eighty
thousand only) Approval is requested
for 10% of the above budget for immediate emergency relief work and rest for
subsequent help to those who may be left out from the government assistance or
that of other NGOs on an as needed basis. CONCLUDING REMARKS: While it is difficult to exactly assess the damage in the immediate aftermath of an emergency with the team in the field busy providing urgent help to those who need it most, the above is a quick estimate of need. The budget will depend largely on the effectiveness of government and other NGO efforts. AID Orissa will only try to plug the gaps where ever that may exist in proximity to its areas of operation.
