Community Environmental Monitoring also took its monitoring tools and the capacity and experiences that it has gained and built up in the past years to the pollution impacted communities of Mettur, Mangalore and Goa.

The main activities of this project are:

•  Providing Environmental & Health Monitoring Skills: volunteers from local villages are trained so that local communities are able to monitor, document and take evidence-based action on pollution.
  
• Building awareness and mobilize support: Creating awareness and organizing support to prevent environmentally destructive industries from entering the area
• Create an Emergency Response Team: youth from the community are trained to provide first-aid, relief and disaster response, and to facilitate legal follow-up for compensation, and action against the polluter in the event of industrial accidents
• stablishing an Emergency Relief Fund which will provide immediate and interim relief to the survivors of industrial accidents
• Clean Livelihoods Program: Involving members of pollution impacted communities, particularly women in the revitalization of local economy by equipping them with skills to pursue environmentally sustainable livelihood opportunities
