Introducing Haybox in Orissa   Manufacturing and selling hay boxes can be a good livelihood activity for women in the villages and also supports bamboo weavers if the product can be marketed well.

My Journey As a Chemical Engineer, I feel very much disturbed that the contribution from us has been very less [mostly negligible] to overcome such problems.

Modus Operandi of payments

NREGA payments in the mandals where we are working in Srikakulam district are being paid via the post office. Each family has been given a passbook by the postal authorities. When a payment order is made, a lumpsum amount (typically for 3-7 days work) for all families comes to the post office.  In addition, each individual is given a slip saying how many days that individual has worked and what amount they should receive for that payment order. They take this slip to the postal officer who is then supposed to give the payment after verifying the individual's identity. The postal officers are not supposed to give the payments to the field assistant

In Vizag District payments are not made through the post office but via village organizations such as the women's groups.
