Page 5 of 6 Jagdish, Santakavita mandal · Asked for information using RTI. The PIO, who was very reluctant about the request, did not even acknowledge the application, and allowed 30 days to pass. Then we filed first appeal. Still nothing happened and we finally went to Commissioner RTI. Commissioner offices send notice to PIO and to us. After receiving the notice they rushed to us. This was given after 30 days. Filed complaint because xerox money was asked, while RTI act stipulates that information must be given free if information is not provided within 30 days. After appeal at the state information commission, received the refund of the xerox money. · Money was not being given for maintaining equipment such as axe, digging equipment, that the laborers use. Government started giving this money after our complaints. In Sept 2008, filed for 15 families job application and got receipt. Since they did not get work, he applied for unemployment benefits for them · In Siripuram village, there was no payment for 500 families for 22 days of work done in April and May. Filed complaints in August and the villagers received money for about half of the days. Rs. 80,000 (from the 4th pay order of this work) was stuck in Pondur post office, as it looked for a bribe from Siripuram post office, which the Siripuram people refused to give. After complaining to the Collector, this money was also released. About 7 days of money for the 500 families is yet to be released for this work.
