AID has approved to send $21,000 to BTS

APPEAL FOR FLOOD RELIEF 
 

Cause : ‘Aaila’ Cyclone and devastating flood by river water. 

Affects : Major affected CD Blocks under BTS Area of operation - (Kultali, Patharpratima, Gosaba and Mathurapur - II. 

Villages : 32 villages covering 1,50,000 (approx) affected people directly 1,00,000 (approx) indirectly 50,000. 

Description : All the 32 villages are inundated by the river water hugely damaging crops, vegetables, pond fish, animals like Goats, Cows and other domestic ones. 

Post Flood Affects

(Huge damage -

possibility)  : Poor’s huts, mud-built schools, Sishu Siksha Kendra (SSK), ICDS centres, markets, tubewells. 

Ponds : 18000 - 20000 ponds with fish and pond based vegetables, crops (seasonal). 

Crops : Salinity of river water will damage the total crops. 

Lake of safe

drinking water  : Tube well are of no use due to saline water conta. 

Water and air

pollution : Huge risk if of serve with bleaching / Hygienic materials, medical camps etc. 

Food Crisis : Damage of food grains crops, vegetables causing severe crisis of food grains.
