M.
Dhamodaran is
the Program Head for community development, and Content Head for the
language program at AID Tamil Nadu. He has been with AID for the last
9 years. He is the recipient of the PRATHAM 2006 achievement award. A
self-made first generation graduate from a poor dalit landless family
in a remote village in Villupuram, he is a major source of
inspiration for volunteers and children alike. He has played a key
role in developing the reading program of AID India. A terrific
organizer, he has also been responsible for developing a strong field
base for the organization across the state. Mr. Dhamodaran holds
an M.Phil in Anthropology from Madras University.
Dharmendra
Kumar started
of a state coordinator of the "Joy of learning campaign" by
the All India People Science Network (AIPSN). The main slogan was,
"Hum Bharat ke bacche maang karte hai ki desh ke sabhi bacchon
ko primary education mile aur shiksha majedar ho." (We are
children of India and we demand that everyone in our country is
provided with primary education and learning should be made fun).
During 2004 to 10 December 2007, Dharmendraji coordinated the Hundred
Block Program. He also coordinated people's health movements and Jan
Swasthya Abhiyan at the state level. Since January 2008 he has been
coordinating AID India’s activities in the Arwal district, Bihar.
The main activities he was involved in were library, science, social
equity, development and relief. He has a qualification of B.A. and
diploma in pharmacy. But his education is non-formal. Dharmendraji’s
main hobby is to learn new things and to teach them to others.
